With these words, we were welcomed to this beautiful island. And I must confirm them. Mykonos was indeed very windy during our visit. However, at such temperatures, it doesn’t bother you at all. The wind wasn’t even cold.
If I could recommend the best time to travel to Mykonos, it would definitely be July. There weren’t many tourists, the weather was beautiful – sunny, and the temperature was just right for sunbathing (if you rarely apply sunscreen like me).

We bought our plane tickets a month in advance, and they cost 50 eur for a round trip from Vienna with Ryanair. ✈️
Accommodation was a bit more challenging; we hesitated a bit, and the prices increased every day. So I recommend finding and booking accommodation in advance. The lower the price, the harder it will be to find.
We stayed at the White and Grey Hotel ✨ with a beautiful pool, divine served breakfast that varied every day, and a great location. It was just a few minutes from the airport and a few minutes to the main town. Considering the increased crime rate on Mykonos due to the significantly higher number of visitors after COVID, I recommend not staying right in the city center. It may not be widely talked about, but the crime rate has risen.
✨ Among the most luxurious hotels in Mykonos is Cavo Tagoo.
If you’re on a budget, I recommend choosing from the following:
There are businesses worth visiting, but it’s also advisable to make reservations in advance: Zuma Restaurant, 180 Sunset Bar, and Super Paradise Beach (no reservation necessary), Scorpio.
1. Super Paradise Beach 🌊
If you go to this beach/bar, it’s great that you’re on this page because if I had known this information in advance, it would have been fantastic. Upon arrival, head straight to the first parking lot on the left. The man at the parking lot will give you a tag with a number, and you leave your car with the keys, and he takes care of it, free of charge.
At the entrance, several beautiful ladies will take care of you and offer you a reservation for sun loungers (3rd row: 80 EUR per person, 2nd row: 100 EUR per person, 1st row: 150 EUR per person, and you also get a towel). However, we noticed that there was a beach next door where people were just lying on towels, so it depends on whether you want to indulge yourself or go low-cost. I recommend enjoying and treating yourself. You can stay there until the evening for the party.
A drink costs around 23 EUR, and the price of food depends on what you order. The portions are really big. The two of us had club sandwiches, and we were full. They also served a giant fruit plate for 45 EUR, and all the food looked great in the end. We paid a total of 206 EUR for everything. The waiter politely asked us if we wanted to give a 10% tip based on the bill (IT’S NOT MANDATORY!). We said thank you but no, as we had already paid for a beautiful place and service (80 EUR each). So don’t be afraid to refuse.
The sea there is truly beautiful, and it’s worth bringing a snorkeling mask. Right next to this beach, you can also enjoy some water activities.
2. 180 Sunset Bar 🌄
It seems that most bars and restaurants (the better ones) now require a minimum spending amount. 180 Sunset Bar is no exception. You have to reserve a place on their website and agree to spend a certain amount per person.
We reserved a spot right by the stage (I can also recommend this spot because it was the best, and we were right in the center of the action). We had to spend 70 EUR per person, but believe me, the view and the program were worth it.
Each of us had two drinks and one for the road. We had a reservation at 19:30, which was ideal, and the program started around 20:30. You might be wondering about the program?
Live music – a singer with a voice that will give you goosebumps, and two dancers (a woman and a man) who dance beautifully. Plus, you get to enjoy a beautiful sunset. It’s truly an experience and better than any other party. The event ends at 22:30 when they start cleaning up and preparing for the next day. Parking is available, and they guide you there very well, but it’s not free. We paid 15 EUR for parking.
In Greece, the blood alcohol concentration limit for driving is 0.5, so it’s up to you whether you dare to drive or prefer to walk (or take an Uber).
